Children's Yoga
In addition to being certified to teach adults, Marcia of Pink Lotus Yoga holds a certificate from the Radiant Child Yoga Program (R.C.Y.P.) to teach yoga to children of all ages.  There is a great need for yoga in children's lives, for it exercises their bodies and teaches them to relax in healthy ways. 
 
As is reported more often about our fast-paced culture, our children are living with greater stress and less physical activity than ever before and are thus subject to resultant illnesses such as obesity and compromised immune systems.  Yoga helps reverse stess and sedentary habits.  (And for the already active child, yoga helps balance high energy with a much-needed calmer energy.)
 
Especially for young children, yoga is like play.  Since yoga is so ancient, many of its poses are named after animals and objects in nature.  Yoga invokes children's imaginations and brings a level of non-competitive, creative fun into their exercise routines.
